Students, faculty get acquainted through Take Your Professor to Lunch program

The Take Your Professor to Lunch program is running during the fall semester through Nov. 5. Co-sponsored by the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence and Undergraduate Student Government Academic Assembly, this program is designed to help break down the barriers of anonymity in classes where remembering names is a challenge and student invisibility is an obstacle to learning. Although only those in classes of 60 or more are eligible to participate, sponsors hope the program will serve as a catalyst for all faculty and students to think about new ways to reach out to one another, opening lines of communication that may be difficult to establish in any classroom. Meal cards will be provided for eligible students who make arrangements with their instructor and three to eight classmates to have lunch together on campus. Web registration is required.
