Four Nittany Lions earns spots on all-mideast region field hockey teams

Penn State was well-represented on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association/STX All-Mideast Region squads, as Bekah Hostetler (Hershey, Pa.), Michele Rigby (Dover, Del.) and Amanda Eckert (Lititz, Pa.) were named to the first-team, and Sara Cahill (Virginia Beach, Va.) was selected to the second team. Rigby led the Nittany Lion scoring attack this year with 11 goals despite playing most of her minutes in the midfield position. She added two assists for a team-high 24 points. Eckert, another talented Penn State midfielder, tallied one assist on the year and contributed both on defense and on the transition attack. Eckert also was named to the first-team all-Big Ten team.
