University Park

Send us your weather photos

Last week, ice storms hit Penn State University Park and several other campuses as well. Earlier this week, a storm dropped a quick inch of snow on the campus. Photos of both storms were posted on Penn State Live and can be seen at http://live.psu.edu/still_life/2005_01_06_ice/index.html and http://live.psu.edu/still_life/2005_01_11_snow/index.html on the Web. While we're not planning to post any additional photos from those storms, we know that these storms won't be the last to wreak havoc on Penn State's campuses this winter.

The next time weather becomes the news, Penn State Live wants your digital pictures. Everybody has guidelines, and we've got a few, too.

-- Get the pictures to us as soon as possible, while the event is still in the news.

-- Pictures must be at least 150 dpi, maximum-quality .jpg files, and must have simple, clear names. For example, if you are at the Penn State DuBois campus and the event is a major snowstorm, name your photos snow_dubois01.jpg, snow_dubois02.jpg, etc.

-- Each picture should be sent on a separate e-mail, with the photographer's name and complete photo caption information in the e-mail. Send photos to PennStateLive@psu.edu.

-- The person sending the pictures must be the photographer.

-- By sending us your photos, you're agreeing to let us use them on Penn State Live, and to keep them in the Penn State Public Information archives for other uses.

Photos received will be used at the editor's discretion. For more information, e-mail Annemarie Mountz at the same address.
