Penn State Interfraternity Council recognizes members of development and alumni relations

Two members of the Department of Development and Alumni Relations received special recognition at the Penn State Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon 2005 kick-off dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 26.

Sara Firestone, The Four Diamonds Fund coordinator at Penn State Children's Hospital, received the 2005 Kevin M. Steinberg Memorial Award. The award recognizes individuals who exemplify the spirit of THON, are role models to students and student volunteers and strive to strengthen the relationship between THON and The Four Diamonds Fund.

The award was named for Kevin Steinberg, a Penn State THON dancer and passionate Four Diamonds supporter who died in a car accident in March 1987. Steinberg was traveling to Hershey to deliver the THON check to The Four Diamonds Fund when the accident occurred.

Mark Rudloff, senior systems analyst, received the Diamond of Wisdom award. Rudloff was recognized for his commitment to THON and its cause -- conquering childhood cancer. His expertise has helped THON grow each year.
