On Saturday, Feb. 19, Penn State Cardiovascular Center celebrates heart month by partnering with the Hershey Bears for a health awareness event on the concourse at the Giant Center before and during the game. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event is open to all those in attendance. The first 3,000 fans will receive commemorative T-shirts.
Numerous departments from Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center are participating. Educational materials and various health screenings are available. A partial listing includes:
* Penn State Cardiovascular Center (blood pressure screening, wellness information, smoking cessation, vascular services);
* Penn State Cancer Institute;
* Children's Heart Group;
* Colon and Rectal Surgery (colon cancer risk assessment);
* Ophthalmology (sports eye safety);
* Women's Health;
* Neurosurgery; and
* Nurse Recruitment (promoting current opportunities).
