Faculty/Staff News: Lectures February 28, 2005

The following lectures have been scheduled on the University Park campus:

-- Michael Leja, professor of American art history at the University of Delaware, will present "Mass Culture's Happy Family: Social Relations and the Flood of Pictures in the Late-19th-Century United States" at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the Palmer Lipcon auditorium at the Palmer Museum of Art, University Park. -- Lee Giles, professor of information sciences and technology, will discuss "What is that search engine doing anyway?" at noon March 2, in the Penn State Downtown Theater. -- "Working for Agencies that Provide Disaster Relief" is the topic of the next talk in the Tsunami Speaker Series, to be held at noon Wednesday, March 2, in 410 Boucke Building, University Park. Speakers are Tom Colledge from Engineers for a Sustainable World, Bob Barry from the American Red Cross and Uma Asher from the Association for India’s Development.
