This July, a Starbucks franchise will open within Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The site will offer high-end coffee, cappuccinos, espressos and other beverages, as well as snacks and pastries. An existing contract with Cafe Soleil, the coffee bar currently located near the medical center rotunda, will expire on June 30 and will not be renewed.
The Starbucks franchise will serve employees and visitors in a new location: the medical center's main lobby. Preliminary site work has been completed and installation of the new coffee kiosk will begin in the next few weeks. A small seating area will be included to accommodate customers.
"Based on the reputation of Starbucks, we are expecting excellence in both the quality of the product and in the standards of service provided to our employees, students and visitors," said Ed Winne, director of Guest Services. "We want to thank our staff and students for their patience as we make this change in services."
