Senior Sendoff festivities set for April 27

University Park, Pa. -- With graduation fast approaching, more than 6,000 seniors are faced with the reality that their time as students at University Park quickly is coming to a close. The Lion Ambassadors and the Penn State Alumni Association want to help send the Class of 2005 out in style with the third annual Penn State Senior Sendoff, from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at the Hintz Family Alumni Center. The event is open to all graduating seniors.

The free festivities include a cookout-style lunch, games, Creamery ice cream, snow cones and grilled stickies. Radio station Hot 103 will broadcast live from the event.

Seniors attending the event will have a chance to win an official Penn State class ring and signed athletic memorabilia. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 500 seniors through the doors. One lucky senior will be chosen to take the Classic Europe graduation tour of four countries.

Seniors also will have an opportunity to visit the Old Main bell tower -- gaining a breathtaking, panoramic view of State College and the University Park campus. This will mark one of the few times during the year that the tower is open to visitors.

Information about the Alumni Association and the many benefits of membership also will be available at the event. For more information, contact the Lion Ambassador office at (814) 863-3752 or e-mail Ben Niebel at bjn144@psu.edu.
