Heard on Campus: Former EPA chief Christine Todd Whitman

"Truly I am delighted to be here at an institution that has taken on so much as far as environmental responsibility goes. The message that sends is very important, because many of the environmental challenges we face today require really complex and sophisticated solutions. It's good to know that here at Penn State you're trying to distill those down into workable and practicable outcomes. That makes life easier for everyone, from the government to the private sector, and I applaud what is being done here."
-- Christine Todd Whitman, former governor of New Jersey and administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, speaking Tuesday (April 26) at Penn State's HUB-Robeson Center Auditorium as part of the Second Annual Colloquium on the Environment, which highlights environmental leadership and demonstrates Penn State's commitment to environmental stewardship. The colloquium is sponsored by the Finance and Business Environmental Stewardship Strategy and the Penn State Institutes of the Environment.
