Fantasy camp to give fans a true taste of Penn State football

University Park, Pa. -- Who wants to play football at Penn State? Next summer, fans can do just that at the inaugural Penn State Football Fantasy Camp.

The camp, scheduled for June 14-16, 2006, will enable individuals to live out their childhood football fantasies as adults. Participants will train in the Penn State football facilities, rehab hamstrings, and learn from coaches and former players, receiving on-field instruction during the four practice sessions, all in preparation for the flag football Blue-White showdown in Beaver Stadium on Saturday. Campers also will ride the famed blue buses to the stadium on game day, and enjoy evening banquets and social time to interact with Nittany Lion lettermen from years past.

"Today, access is the ultimate reality and this will certainly provide a real taste of what it is like to be a Penn State football player," said broadcaster Todd Blackledge, a Penn State quarterback from 1980-82.

Participation is open to the first 50 players and 10 honorary coaches who register (participation is limited to male adults 22 years of age and older). The dream weekend includes:

* Four on-field workout sessions with current coaches and former players;
* Flag football game in Beaver Stadium with all campers/participants;
* Motivational speakers, Recruiting seminar;
* Team meals at the Letterman's Lounge, Mount Nittany Club and training table;
* Awards banquet;
* Authentic Nittany Lion game and practice apparel;
* Souvenir photos and game video;
* Four nights hotel in the Nittany Lion Inn, all meals, refreshments and local transportation.

Total cost with single accommodations is $4,490 per participant, with net proceeds going to provide additional academic resources for Penn State varsity football players.

The Penn State Football Fantasy Camp will be produced by Global Football. For more information, visit http://www.PennStatefantasycamp.com or http://www.GoPSUsports.com
