Spence Ford, instructor of dance, will present "Taking Chances: A Cabaret Journey," at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at the Citizens Bank Theatre, in the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center. The event is free to the public.
Ford has been pursuing a bachelor of arts in integrative arts since 2001, and this performance is part of an independent study with Mary Saunders, professor of voice, for the bachelor of fine arts musical theatre program. "I have wanted to create and perform an act for many years; and this year, when my adviser, Pat Trimble, encouraged me to 'take advantage' of the expertise of the professors here, the wheels in my head started to crank into action," Ford said. "I definitely want this show to be enjoyed as a gesture of appreciation for everyone who has helped me grow and continue to develop."
