Reminder: Donate to Trash to Treasure

From now until May 13, on-campus students can donate any items they don't want -- from CDs and TVs to board games and blankets -- to the award-winning Trash to Treasure program. Volunteers will sort through the donations, give any nonperishable food to local food banks, and put everything else up for sale at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, May 27. Last year, students gave 73.6 tons of usable items and over 8,000 pounds of food -- and the sale raised more than $54,000 for the Centre County United Way. For more information on where -- and what -- can be donated, students should stop by their local housing office or visit http://www.hfs.psu.edu/treasure online. Volunteers are still needed to help prepare for the sale. To view a list of available shifts and to complete an application, visit http://www.hfs.psu.edu/treasure/volunteer online. The Trash to Treasure sale is a cooperative effort between Penn State and the Centre County United Way. Cash proceeds benefit the Centre County United Way member organizations.
