New procedure begins for printing, copying estimates and placing orders

In June, Purchasing and the Multimedia and Print Center will launch the Penn State Print Portal, an online system that will streamline the printing process and allow users to request estimates, place orders, and track their printing and copying expenses. Estimate requests for University Park print and copy jobs should be submitted through the portal, which will give Penn State customers access to the services of a wide variety of vendors. Customers also may continue to send print and copy jobs directly to the Multimedia and Print Center or to the copy centers in Hostetter Building, the IST Building and the HUB-Robeson Center if they wish. The Multimedia and Print Center's customer service representatives will work closely with vendors and Penn State customers to find the most cost-effective options for each project. Once bidding has closed on a job, vendors will be able to use the portal to view all bids submitted for that particular project. The Multimedia and Print Center anticipates that this practice will result in more competitive pricing for Penn State customers.

To learn more about the Penn State Print Portal, visit the Print Portal Expo, to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 25 at The Nittany Lion Inn, in conjunction with General Stores' Big, Big Show. Multimedia and Print Center staff will be on hand to answer questions, and University print vendors will showcase their work.
