Penn State Lehigh Valley student presented with Walker Award

Jacqueline Kromer of Walnutport was presented with the Eric A. and Josephine Walker Award at the 20th annual Honors Convocation award ceremony held recently at Penn State Lehigh Valley.

The Walker Award is presented annually to one undergraduate student at each Penn State campus. It recognizes a student with outstanding qualities of character, scholarship, leadership and citizenship, who has positively affected fellow students, and who has contributed to the prestige and well-being of their campus and to the University as a whole. Faculty and students nominate individuals who represent the characteristics of the Walker Award.

Ann Williams, chancellor at Penn State Lehigh Valley, said, "Jacqui Kromer's commitment and service to Penn State Lehigh Valley and the community has been exceptional. Her participation as a Lion Ambassador and THON Chair, as well as a volunteer at such organizations as the Sixth Street Shelter, Hawk Mountain and America Reads, has singled her out as a strong, dedicated leader."

Funds for the award are donated each year from the estate of Eric A. Walker, president emeritus of the University, and his wife Josephine.
