Foley named interim dean of IST

Henry C. "Hank" Foley, associate vice president for research and director of strategic initiatives, has been appointed interim dean of the College of Information Sciences and Technology. Foley, who holds a doctorate in physical chemistry from Penn State, returned to the University in 2000 as the Walter L. Robb family endowed chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering. In 2004 he accepted his current position, where he has been responsible for providing overall leadership of Penn State's Animal Resource Program, Center for Space Research, Homeland Security Council, Marine Corps Research University and the Worldwide University Network. He also was charged with development of major new initiatives and working closely with state and federal agencies. Foley will assume leadership of IST beginning July 1.
