College of Communications appoints Jamey Perry assistant dean

Jamey Perry has been named assistant dean for academic services in the College of Communications at Penn State.

As an assistant dean, Perry will be responsible for coordination and supervision of academic services operations. He leads an office of four advisers that supports nearly 3,000 students through individual sessions designed to maximize their educational experience at the University.

In addition, Perry helps to coordinate campus visits and special events for prospective and current students. He joined the college as an academic adviser in 1999 and previously served as director of academic services.

As an adviser, Perry works with undergraduate students, faculty and staff on a daily basis. In 2002, he received the Deans' Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding advising work and for his role as a provider of consistent support for students, fellow staff and faculty members in the college.

Perry is a 1987 graduate of Penn State with a degree in administration of justice. He holds a master's degree from Kutztown University. He initially held student-service positions at Penn State Beaver and Penn State Berks. He later moved to the University Park campus and worked in admissions before joining the college.
