Kosher for Passover meals available on campus

University Park, Pa. -- Jewish students, faculty and staff who wish to adhere to kosher dietary laws during Passover can take part in kosher for Passover meals being served on campus during Passover week.

Kosher lunches and dinners will be available at the Waring Dining Commons in West Halls. The all-you-care-to-eat meals can be purchased with the A-La Board meal plan, as well as cash and LionCash+. To buy a meal, participants must first register at www.kosherfoodrocks.psu.edu before Friday, March 7.

The meals will begin with brunch on April 20 and end with brunch on April 27. Lunch is $9.75 (or 290 A-La Board points) and dinner and brunch is $11.50 (or 345 A-La Board points).

Lunch will be a dairy menu featuring matzoh pizza, vegetables, salads, cheese, fruit and Pepsi. Dinner will be a meat menu featuring baked chicken, pasta (kosher for Passover egg noodles), vegetables, fruit and Pepsi.

All food is orthodox kosher certified. Questions regarding specific certifications can be directed to Student Kosher Food Coordinator Jeremy Weisblatt at jrw5002@gmail.com. Food Services turns to Rabbi Joel Roth of the Jewish Theological Seminary for legal questions when they arise.

Chabad on Campus at Penn State will also be providing a Kosher Passover Meal plan under the supervision of Rabbi Nosson Meretsky. This plan will only be for the dinner meals and will take place at the Rohr Jewish Center off campus. For more information and to sign up, visit www.gotmatza.com.
