President's Concert brings student talent to alumni in D.C.

University Park, Pa. -- Several groups from the Penn State School of Music will perform Friday, May 2, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in the second annual Penn State School of Music President's Concert. Hosted by President Graham B. Spanier, the 7:30 p.m. concert will feature vocal performances by Essence of Joy and Chamber Singers, plus soloists and chamber groups drawn from the school's premier ensembles.

Prior to the concert, the Penn State Alumni Association will host a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the 600 Restaurant at The Watergate. Alumni and friends can enjoy hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and socializing with other Penn Staters.

Admission to the concert and reception is $35 for Alumni Association members. A member's guests may attend at the member rate. For all others, admission is $45 per person. To register, visit http://www.alumni.psu.edu/events/ and click on the link to the President's Concert.

Those who are unable to attend the Alumni Association's pre-concert reception but would still like to attend the 7:30 p.m. concert performance, should call the Kennedy Center Instant-Charge line at (800) 444-1324.
