Heard on Campus: Steelers' great Bettis at the Bryce Jordan Center

"A champion doesn't look like anything. A champion is built not born. Along the road of life I've had a lot of failures and a lot of choices to make. I think I made all the right choices."

-- Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis on building his successful career. Bettis spoke Tuesday (March 25) at the Bryce Jordan Center on Penn State's University Park campus. He was invited to campus as a lecturer in the Student Programming Association's Distinguished Speakers Series. Bettis, considered one of the best big running backs in NFL history, played from 1993-2005 with the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams and the Steelers. He is the NFL's fifth all-time leading rusher and retired after winning the Super Bowl with the Steelers in 2006. He is now a commentator for the NFL Network and NBC.
