C-SPAN to visit University Park April 17-18

University Park, Pa. -- Representatives from the cable television channel C-SPAN will be at Penn State's University Park campus Thursday and Friday, April 17-18, as part of its political campaign coverage leading up to the Pennsylvania primary election.

On Thursday, a C-SPAN Campaign 2008 Bus will arrive on campus at 12:30 p.m. and will be set up outside near the Eisenhower Auditorium plaza to offer tours from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Also outside Eisenhower Auditorium, on Friday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. C-SPAN will air the latter half of its live three-hour show "Washington Journal."

Scheduled to be interviewed during the show, on the topic of the youth vote, are Penn State students from the College Democrats and College Republicans. Also scheduled to appear are Constance Flanagan, Penn State professor of agriculture and extension education, and Amy Syvertsen, Penn State graduate student in human development and family studies, as well as Erica Briant, youth vote oganizer for public advocacy group PennPIRG.
