Softball's Kinley, Hill earn All-Region selections

Junior Danielle Kinley (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad) and redshirt freshman Jackie Hill (San Jose, Calif./Leigh) of the Penn State softball team were named to the NFCA All-Great Lakes Region Second Team the region announced today (May 14). This is Kinley's second selection to the All-Region squad and first second team selection while it's the first honor for Hill.

Kinley wrapped up an impressive junior season leading the Nittany Lions in batting average (.356), runs scored (30), hits (58), doubles (13), slugging percentage (.491), walks (36), on-base percentage (.480) and stolen bases (9). Kinley was a first team selection in 2007 and went on to earn All-American honors later that year.

Hill was also impressive in her redshirt freshman year as she recorded a 15-8 record with a 2.06 ERA. She pitched a team-high six shutouts while striking out 116 opposing batters. She pitched a total of 152.2 innings including 14 complete games.

Both Kinley and Hill will now go on to All-American selection which will be announced during the final week of May. For a complete list of all the regional winners visit NFCA.org
