University Park, Pa. -- Penn State's Commission for Women will hold an open house from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, at the Hintz Family Alumni Center's Robb Hall, University Park. This informal event will include welcoming remarks, refreshments, displays, and brochures, plus general information about its priorities for 2008-2009. All who are interested in learning more about the commission’s programs, committees, and opportunities to work on our ad hoc issues committees (child and elder care, family leave, and wage equity) are welcome. No registration is required. For details, contact Molly Wertheimer at mmw9@psu.edu or (570) 450-3051 or visit http://www.equity.psu.edu/cfw/.

The Commission for Women was established in 1981 to serve as an advisory group to the President on issues affecting women and to guide the University in its efforts to enhance the status of women at Penn State. The commission advocates for programs and policies that enhance the working and learning environments for women students, faculty and staff members, technical service employees, and administrators.
