Student technology tutors sought

Universtiy Park, Pa. -- Undergraduate or graduate students at University Park in any major may apply to become a Technology Learning Assistant (TLA).

TLAs are paired with faculty members to provide them with five to ten tutoring sessions on basic computer skills, e-mail and file organization, PowerPoint, Excel, creating Web pages, electronic gradebook software, and other applications. TLAs also demonstrate how to use Penn State services such as ANGEL, podcasting and iTunes U, Adobe Connect, ITS Streaming Services, and the Blogs at Penn State.

TLAs can gain real-life consulting experience, practice communication and organizational skills, and earn academic credits with the possibility of earning wages in subsequent semesters.

For more information or to apply online, visit http://ets.tlt.psu.edu/tla/. E-mail tlatutors@psu.edu with any questions. The TLA program is sponsored by the Schreyer Honors College, the College of Information Sciences and Technology, the Instructional Systems program of the College of Education, and Information Technology Services.
