Cooking 101 to teach students how to cook a healthy meal

University Park, Pa. -- A craze for eating healthier seems to be sweeping the nation and Penn State is no exception. Students who want to learn how to cook a healthy meal can attend a cooking class taught by Penn State Executive Chef Mark Kowalski from 8 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12 in the Gold Room of Pollock Commons.

“Students are getting more and more interested in how to cook for themselves,” Jo-Ann Marker, special projects manager, said.

Because space is limited, students must contact Jo-Ann Marker by Monday, Nov. 3, at (814)863-1255 or by e-mail to sign up.

Chef Kowalski will show the class a healthy way to prepare a salads, entrées, and desserts. The new chef will educate students about fresh ingredients and those who attend can enjoy samples of his recipes.
