Penn State-Michigan State clash to air on ABC

University Park, Pa. — ABC will regionally televise Penn State's regular season finale with Michigan State on Saturday, Nov. 22. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. for the sold-out Senior Day clash in Beaver Stadium.

The parts of the nation that do not receive the game on their ABC affiliate will be able to watch it on ESPN or ESPN2.

The Nittany Lion seniors will be introduced before the game, which will have significant implications in determining the Big Ten Champion and the conference's automatic representative to the Bowl Championship Series. The Spartans (9-2 overall) lead the Big Ten with a 6-1 mark and are idle this week. Penn State (9-1) is 5-1 in the conference and hosts Indiana Saturday at noon on the Big Ten Network. Ohio State (8-2) also is 5-1 in league play and can win the title.

Should Penn State be able to defeat Indiana and Michigan State, the Nittany Lions will win the Big Ten and play in the Rose Bowl or the BCS National Championship Game.

On the heels of Saturday's last-second, 24-23 loss to Iowa, Penn State is No. 7 in the Associated Press and Harris Interactive Polls and No. 8 in the Bowl Championship Series standings and USA Today Coaches poll. The Nittany Lions are the Big Ten's highest ranked team.

With its next win, Penn State will earn its 20th season with at least 10 victories under Coach Joe Paterno.

Penn State will be making its sixth appearance of the season on ABC when its faces Michigan State in the battle for the Land Grant Trophy. The Nittany Lions also have made three appearances on ESPN and will make their third appearance on the Big Ten Network when the Hoosiers visit on Saturday.

The Big Ten Network can be seen in approximately 70 million homes nationwide. Fans can find the Big Ten Network channel number for their cable or satellite TV carrier by going to http://www.bigtennetwork.com/gamefinder online.

The Nittany Lions have appeared on television in 174 of their last 176 games. All Penn State football games can be heard on the Penn State Sports Network and http://www.GoPSUsports.com, the official Web site of Penn State Athletics, with selected games available on XM Satellite Radio.
