Winners in the fall 2008 High School Art Contest held at Penn State Fayette were announced recently at a special reception held on campus. Area high school students submitted artwork in the theme of "Vive la France" for display in the Cultural Center in Penn State Fayette's Williams Building, where they will remain on display through Dec. 12. The contest was held in conjunction with a season-long cultural celebration of France and Francophone culture around the world. First place was awarded to Maddie Klein of Uniontown High School for her painting "Moulin Rouge." Other winners included: second place to Brandon Mitchell of Albert Gallatin High School, third place to Erica Lecomte of Connellsville Area High School and honorable mention to Alina McPherson of Uniontown High School.
