Libraries extend article delivery service to staff

University Park, Pa. -- Penn State Libraries patrons with a status of "staff" can now request articles via ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan) from print journals located at their local Penn State campus. This is an extension of the service available to faculty. The service provides electronic copies of articles from the print journal collections at local campus libraries, at no charge. The service is a time saver for faculty and staff who no longer have to visit the Libraries in person to retrieve and copy articles from print journals.

Barbara Coopey, access services assistant head, says the Libraries are pleased to offer this service to staff. "Many staff are located in offices off campus or far from one of our library locations," she said. "For example, a staff researcher located at Innovation Park or West Campus can now request articles from journals located at the Engineering Library or Paterno Library. Library staff will scan the article and post it to the staff member's Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) Account."

The request form is available from the "Interlibrary Loan" selection on the top menu bar of the Libraries' Web pages or at http://www.libraries.psu.edu/tas/ill online.

The ILLiad page is at http://www.libraries.psu.edu/psul/quicklinks/ill.html online. Select the ILLiad request form. Electronically delivered articles are accessed via this site as well.
