Students' Disney music performances fill Esber Recital Hall

Disney motion pictures' musical standards resounded in Esber Recital Hall on Friday, Jan. 16, as SNATS, the Penn State chapter of the Student National Association of Teachers of Singing, took the stage. The event, titled "Dreams, Dances and Disney, Oh My!" was an informal cabaret performance comprising musical selections from prominent Disney movies.

Members each performed a single selection from their favorite Disney movie, charming the audience with their vocal talent and fun renditions of songs such as "I Can Show You The World" from Aladdin, and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King. As part of their closing number, the ensemble moved out into Esber Recital Hall to "borrow" audience members to bring them on stage for the final number, "That's How You Know" from the Walt Disney motion picture Enchanted. The nine members of SNATS -- which is made up of voice music education majors and is supervised by voice faculty Jennifer Trost and Norman Spivey -- were featured in turn, with an ensemble number at the start and finale.
