Campus community congregates for Obama inauguration

University Park, Pa. — Penn State community members gathered in large numbers at locations around the University Park campus Tuesday (Jan. 20) to watch the historic inauguration of Barack Obama as 44th President of the United States.

Hundreds of students, faculty and staff gathered at some of the larger viewing locations, including the HUB-Robeson Center and Foster Auditorium in Pattee Library. Smaller gatherings also took place around campus, such as in Old Main, where President Graham Spanier invited staff to watch the inauguration in his office conference room.

Foster Auditorium in Pattee Library was packed, so students took to the floor to watch the inauguration of Barack Obama. For more photos, click on the image above. Credit: Andy Colwell / Penn StateCreative Commons
