Alumni seek nominations for Cheston M. Berlin Service Award

Each year, the Penn State College of Medicine Alumni Society selects an outstanding individual to receive the Cheston M. Berlin Service Award. Started in 1987 in honor of Cheston Berlin Jr., a beloved pediatrician and faculty member at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, this award recognizes meritorious service to the College of Medicine Alumni Society or its members.

The Alumni Society is soliciting nominations for the 2009 Cheston M. Berlin Service Award and asks the Penn State Hershey family to recommend individuals who deserve this recognition. Nominees can be a faculty member, student, alumnus, administrator or friend who is directly or indirectly associated with the College of Medicine. Nominated individuals should demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the college's Alumni Society and its programs.

The 2009 Cheston M. Berlin Service Award will be presented during Alumni Weekend’s All-Alumni Welcome Back Dinner scheduled for Friday, Sept. 11, at the Hershey Country Club. To view a list of previous Cheston M. Berlin Service Award winners, visit www.pennstatehersheyalumni.com and click on "Awards."

Nominations, along with an explanation as to why the individual deserves the award, may be sent to Maureen Hoepfer at AlumniRelations@hmc.psu.edu or faxed to (717) 531-7939. Nominations will be accepted until Monday, March 30.
