Come out and Kiss Hershey Back

Last spring, more than 700 community members turned out on the Saturday before Earth Day to make the sweetest place on Earth into the cleanest place on Earth. The first annual Kiss Hershey Back, an initiative led by students from Penn State College of Medicine to clean and beautify Derry Township, removed 28 cubic yards of litter and several old tires from the streets and parks and saw the planting of several young trees.

This year, Kiss Hershey Back is scheduled for April 18 and includes plans to expand activities and projects. To help grow the program, a fundraiser is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. for Feb. 23 at Isaac’s Restaurant in Hershey. To have 25 percent of the bill donated to Kiss Hershey Back, pick up a flyer located on message boards located throughout Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the cafeterias and turn it in to the Isaac’s cashier.
