Penn College specialty license plate available

Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering a specialty license plate for Pennsylvania motorists who wish to show their support for the college.

The plate is available for $74 – $50 of which benefits Alumni Relations at Penn College. The remaining $24 is for a processing fee that is paid to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The $50 portion of the cost that benefits Alumni Relations may be tax-deductible.

"We are very excited to be able to offer alumni, students, employees and friends of the college the opportunity to show their pride by purchasing a Penn College license plate," said Barbara A. Danko, director of alumni relations. "There has already been interest from alumni who have seen the Web page advertising the plates."

The license-plate Web site includes a downloadable application from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

The completed, signed application – along with a $74 check made payable to "Pennsylvania College of Technology" – should be mailed to Alumni Relations Office, DIF 62, Pennsylvania College of Technology, One College Avenue, Williamsport, PA 17701.

Alumni Relations will forward the money, with the approved application, to the commonwealth. Do not mail the application to PennDOT. Specialty license plates typically take six to eight weeks to be delivered after the completed application is submitted to PennDOT.

When the plate arrives, it will include a new sticker and registration card. The registration due date, and dollar amount on the yearly registration, remain the same. The person whose name is on the license-plate application must be listed on the registration of the car.
