Pine Hall property expands University's energy research space

Hershey, Pa. — Penn State's Board of Trustees voted today (March 20) to approve the purchase of property at 2011 Pine Hall Drive, Ferguson Township, near the intersection of College Avenue and Science Park Road.

The property is a 1.8-acre parcel with an industrial facility of 8,652 square feet owned by BioPore Real Estate Joint Venture and offered to the University for $850,000. The building will expand the University's available laboratory space.

"The purchase of this property will immediately address some of our most critical space needs in the Energy Institute, where the lack of labs and offices continues to hinder current and future research programs," said Al Horvath, vice president for Finance and Business.

The Pine Hall property, approximately 1-1/2 miles from the University's west campus graduate housing facilities, has been inspected by Penn State's Office of Physical Plant and has been found to be in a condition suitable for acquisition.
