Nike Give 100% contest winner announced

Thanks in part to votes from members of the Penn State community, a Lancaster County man who was the first bone marrow transplant recipient at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center 12 years ago is the winner of the Nike Give 100% contest, sponsored by LIVESTRONG.com. Todd Hitz, 38, of Mt. Joy, started a bone marrow transplant support group here one week after his own transplant. Today, it has grown into a thriving community of patients and families who depend on the support. He also interacts with cancer patients and families through The Caring Bridge and at doctors’ requests.

Hitz and his wife, Krissy, received an all-expenses paid trip to New York City and may appear on ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday, March 27.
