Centrice Martin receives the Outstanding Adult Student Award for 2009

Centrice Martin, an agribusiness management major in the College of Agricultural Sciences, is this year's winner of the Penn State Outstanding Adult Student Award, presented by the Division of Student Affairs and Penn State Outreach. Martin received her award, which included a display frame for her diploma provided by the Penn State Bookstore on the University Park campus, at an award ceremony held at Pasquerilla Spiritual Center.

Martin, a full-time student and single mother of a 6-year-old daughter, is publicity chair for the National Agri-Marketing Association Club at Penn State; a student presenter for the First-Year Testing, Consulting and Advising Program at University Park; and a volunteer for Penn State's Spend a Summer Day program. She also assists in coaching cheerleading at Bellefonte Elementary School and T-Ball at the YMCA, where her daughter is a team member. Martin will graduate in May and plans to pursue a master's degree in Youth and Family Education at Penn State next fall.
