Awards to recognize Research and Graduate School staff

University Park, Pa. -- Eight Penn State Research and Graduate School staff members have been honored with awards for their contributions to the research mission of the University or for their contributions to the Graduate School.

Eva J. Pell, senior vice president for Research and dean of the Graduate School, presented the awards during the Research and Graduate School Staff Appreciation Program. Award recipients were:

-- Staff Innovation Award: Lesley Moore, administrative support coordinator in the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research, for being instrumental in establishing a Web-based limited submissions procedure.

-- Staff Leadership Award: Jodi Johnson, associate director of enrollment services for the Graduate School, for providing expert leadership and motivation to her office and colleagues throughout the University.

-- Staff Support Award: Wendy Peck, administrative support coordinator in the Office of Sponsored Programs, for providing outstanding staff support and for developing innovative new work method assignment methods, which she presented at a national conference.

-- Staff Diversity Award, Fostering a Welcoming Climate: Lacey Auman, Tracie Kahler Joanna Lyons, Michelle Panulla and Laura Young came together as the Office of Research Protections Diversity Committee and created a greater understanding regarding the needs of underrepresented groups in addition to helping those in need in the community.
