Penn State Hazleton held its spring 2009 commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 15 in the Physical Education Building. Jennifer Hopkins, '84, was the commencement speaker. Hopkins, a certified public accountant, is president of the Sustainable Energy Fund, located in Allentown. She is a new member of the Hazleton Educational Council and the campus advisory board, and was a founding member of the Penn State Hazleton Alumni Society. She attended Penn State Hazleton before earning her baccalaureate degree in accounting from Penn State at the University Park campus.
