Time-lapse video captures multiple commencements

For 50 hours straight during Penn State's commencement weekend, a Department of Public Information time-lapse camera took one picture every two minutes throughout seven commencement ceremonies in the Bryce Jordan Center. The weekend, which included 13 such ceremonies at University Park alone, awarded nearly 11,000 diplomas University-wide. University Park students received nearly 8,000 of those.

The camera, a joint venture between Bryce Jordan Center staff and Public Information, was set up in the upper deck of the venue, where it was able to record more than 1,200 10-megapixel still images. The images have been compiled together into time-lapse format to depict the magnitude of the commencement activities. To view the video, visit /video/176406/2013/02/09/video-no-title online.
