Official dedication of Kazmaier Family Building set for Thursday

Penn State Altoona will recognize the philanthropy of John and Deedra “Dede” Kazmaier and the late Jane Patterson Kazmaier Lower during the official dedication of the Kazmaier Family Building, Thursday, June 4, 2009, at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony will be held in the common area on the ground floor of Aaron Building, 1431 Twelfth Ave. in Altoona. An open house at the Kazmaier Family Building, 1419 Twelfth Ave., will immediately follow.

The Kazmaier Family Building is home to the college’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations.
The Kazmaier family is a longtime supporter of Penn State Altoona’s development efforts. That support includes participation in several fund raising campaigns, including the Community Arts Center building fund. In 1997, Lower created the Jane Patterson Kazmaier Lower Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship benefits outstanding full-time, female students from a Blair County high school.
The Kazmaiers possess a distinguished record of service to Penn State Altoona. John has served over thirty years on the Penn State Altoona Advisory Board. A member of the college’s Campaign Council and the University’s Campaign Stewardship Program Committee, Dede previously served on Penn State Altoona’s Development Council.
