Third annual Colon Cancer Prevention 5K Run and Fun Walk

Penn State Hershey Colon and Rectal Surgery invites everyone to participate in the third annual Colon Cancer Prevention 5K Run and Fun Walk at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13. For the second year, this race is dedicated to Palmyra resident and competitive runner William F. Foran, who lost his battle with colon cancer. Money raised will support colorectal cancer prevention, testing and counseling at the Medical Center.

Runners and walkers will enjoy a wheel-measured, flat course with no traffic. The race starts at the Carousel Pavilion on City Island, Harrisburg. Refreshments will be available for participants following the race.

Packet pick-up and onsite registration begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Carousel Pavilion. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. The quarter-mile Kids Fun Run begins at 8:15 a.m. for ages 10 and under. There is no fee for the Kids Fun Run.

Entry donation is $18 if registered by June 6. Registrations received after June 6 and on the morning of the race are $22. Short-sleeve Sport Science T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 250 pre-registered runners or walkers. Prize money will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers of the 5K run.
