Celebrate Independence Day all day and into the night at 4th Fest

University Park, Pa. -- In Central Pennsylvania, America's independence is honored with a whole day of family fun, followed in the evening by what the Travel Channel recently called "one of the best fireworks displays in the world."

The region's annual Fourth of July celebration, Central PA 4th Fest, is supported entirely by volunteers and donations. Held on Saturday, July 4, 4th Fest is hosted by Penn State outside the Bryce Jordan Center and kicks off at 9 a.m. with the Firecracker 4K Race on campus.

Events during the afternoon include a State College Spikes home game; a display of military vehicles and equipment as well as "Operation Thank You," a collection of care-package items for U.S. military service personnel and veterans; pyrotechnics demonstrations; food vendors; three stages of live entertainment; the fireworks display and more.

VIP Special Viewing Area passes are available for purchase until 6:30 p.m. on July 4 at the Bryce Jordan Center's ticket office.
