Additional funding cycle for Woodward Endowment education grants

The steering committee for the Woodward Endowment is accepting applications for an additional funding cycle of 2009-10 education grants, including education projects, research awards and Woodward Education Scholar Awards. These awards are available on a competitive basis to all individuals involved in the educational mission of Penn State College of Medicine and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Education projects and research awards provide two levels of support. Level I awards provide up to $3,000 for innovative pilot projects or one-time investments to improve a specific aspect of education. Level II awards provide up to $25,000 for fully conceived projects that will lead to publishable educational research outcomes, or that provide a demonstrated improvement in curriculum.

The Woodward Education Scholar Awards confer the title “Woodward Education Scholar” and support up to two weeks of travel to other institutions for training in health sciences education followed by a formal project at the Medical Center to implement or disseminate the knowledge gained.

Examples of previously funded projects are available on the Woodward Web site. Visit http://www.pennstatehershey.org/opd and click on "Woodward Endowment" under "Programs."
