Pennsylvania Centre Stage presents 'Hay Fever'

Pennsylvania Centre Stage will present "Hay Fever," from now through July 26 in the Citizens Bank Theatre at the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center, 146 S. Allen St., State College.

Directed by Brant Pope, Noel Coward's "Hay Fever" is a side-achingly funny comedy of bad manners and mayhem when, unbeknownst to one another, the Bliss family of four each invites a guest for a weekend dalliance in the country.

Pope, who was head of acting at Penn State from 2001 to 2007, has a 35-year career in both academic and professional theatre. The cast of nine includes veteran actor Helen Manfull, professor emerita in the School of Theatre and honorary alumna of Penn State; Jane Ridley, who has performed in numerous professional and regional theatres around the globe and is head of the graduate actor training program at Penn State; Henson Keys, head of the acting programs at the University of Illinois and a professional actor and director with more than 120 productions in theatres across the country; and Penn State master of fine arts actors Chad Bradford, Jessiee Datino, Clory Jackson, Ben Loving, Blaine Smith, and Stephanie Stroud.
