Bahnfleth named a vice president of ASHRAE

William Bahnfleth, professor of architectural engineering and director of the Indoor Environment Center, was named a vice president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) during the group's annual conference in Louisville, Ky., held June 20-24.

As a society vice president, Bahnfleth is a member of the board of directors and the executive committee. In addition, he will serve as vice chair of the technology council.

The architectural engineer was also selected to be a speaker in ASHRAE's distinguished lecturer program. The program sends guest lecturers to ASHRAE chapters, student branches and other organizations to discuss relevant subjects of interest to ASHRAE members and guests.

Bahnfleth is the adviser of ASHRAE's student branch at Penn State.
