Students can grant parents access to eLion accounts

You may have heard about eLion -- Penn State’s comprehensive student self-service portal -- from your student.  eLion is a student's one-stop-shop for registration, advising, checking grades, viewing their account, managing loans and scholarships, and many other functions.  But did you know that parents can also access services in eLion?

With your student’s authorization, you can view and pay tuition bills, check their Bursar's account, print a verification of enrollment for insurance purposes, and review and perform other functions and information.

Your student may grant you access as follows:

-- Parent must have an active Penn State User ID. The parent may obtain a Penn State User ID through a "Friends of Penn State" account. Go to https://elion.psu.edu and select "Parent/Other." Select "Create an Account" and follow the instructions to obtain your "Friends of Penn State" User ID.

-- Parent then provides their Penn State User ID to their student.

-- The student grants their parent access in eLion by selecting "Parent/Other Access" on the left-hand menu, selecting "Continue," and following the directions to grant access to the desired function(s).

Once the access has been granted by the student, you may log into eLion as Parent/Other.
