Photographer and Penn State professor featured in Art Galley in August

The works of photographer and Penn State professor Jerrold Maddox are on display Aug. 1 to 31 at the Penn State New Kensington Art Gallery.

Maddox, professor of art at the University Park campus, has a background in painting and drawing. He exhibited his paintings for 30 years at numerous venues before turning to photography and computer-based graphics in 1990.

A graduate of Indiana University, where he earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree in fine arts, Maddox has taught humanities, art appreciation, art history, design, drawing and painting, and criticism. He has been on the faculty at Penn State since 1980 and currently teaches Web-based courses through the distant learning program.

The Art Gallery is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and noon to 5 p.m. weekends.
