President's State of the University Address set for Friday, Sept. 11

University Park, Pa. -- Penn State President Graham B. Spanier will deliver his 2009 State of the University Address in video format to the University's Board of Trustees beginning at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11. The video portrait will offer a glimpse of some of the ways Penn State is changing the world through research, scholarship and service.

After the board presentation the video will be posted to the president's Web site for viewing by Penn State faculty, staff and students, as well as the general public. The video also will be shown on “To the Best of My Knowledge” on WPSU-TV and PCN at 8 p.m. on Sept. 15, and on the Big Ten Network at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sept. 16 and again at 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 23.

This is the fourth year Spanier has used the video format for his annual report in an effort to broaden the reach of his State of the University Address. Over the last three years, the video versions have had unprecedented audiences, reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers through the Web site, DVDs, podcasts and cable television.
