Student health fair features resources, entertainment, prizes

University Park, Pa. -- University Health Services (UHS) and the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will host a health fair for students from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 9 on the University Park campus. The day-long event will take place in the Student Health Center on Bigler Road, adjacent to the Bank of America Career Services Building and across the street from the outdoor swimming pool.

The student health fair will highlight services available at UHS and CAPS. Resources and demonstrations on important student health topics such as flu prevention, nutrition, physical activity, sexual health, alcohol, stress and sleep will be featured.

There will be performances by Penn State clubs throughout the afternoon on the plaza between the Student Health Center and Career Services:

  • From noon to 1 p.m., the Cheer Club;
  • From 2:30 to 3 p.m., the Fencing Club;
  • From 3:30 to 4 p.m., the RAM Squad, and
  • From 4:30 to 5 p.m., the Urban Dance Troupe.

Students can enter to win health-related prizes, including a WiiFit, gift certificates redeemable for free massage and fitness classes, produce at the Cellar Market, yoga equipment and more. Healthy snacks will be available along with handouts and giveaways related to student health.
