New Penn State license plate available in Pennsylvania

A new Pennsylvania license plate featuring the popular Penn State lion head logo has been unveiled by the Penn State Alumni Association.

The new University license plate features the Penn State lion head logo on the left side of the plate and “Penn State University” written across the bottom. Any Penn State alum or fan can purchase this new Penn State plate provided they own one of the more than eight million qualified registered vehicles in Pennsylvania (to qualify, the vehicle must weigh less than 9,000 pounds and cannot be a motorcycle).

All license plate purchases will help to fund student scholarships and programs offered by Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, the University and the Penn State Alumni Association. The new Pennsylvania plate is available for a one-time fee of $179, which includes registration fees for PennDOT. Each year thereafter, only the standard PennDOT registration fees will apply. Of that initial fee, $155 is tax deductible as a gift to Penn State.
