IBM impressed with Penn State students

IBM Associate Partner Thomas Smith considers Penn State University to be one of the top schools for finding the best-qualified candidates for their company.

“Penn State is consistently powerful because of the caliber of students who demonstrate that they are hard-working, committed and have a solid educational structure,” said Smith.

IBM has been recruiting Penn State students since 2001 and will be participating in on-campus Interviewing this fall at the Bank of America Career Services Center. During the on-campus interview, Smith recommends that students be themselves, know where they want to be, show they can handle ambiguity and demonstrate balance in their education, leadership and experience.

On-campus interviews begin on Wednesday, Sept. 30 and offer students the chance to interview for full-time positions with a variety of employers from business, industry and government organizations.

Students need to register with Nittany Lion Career Network and select the on-campus interviewing option in order to participate. Once registered, students will complete a profile, upload their resume and search for positions based on their interests in the company and position. Employers will then select the candidates who will be invited to interview with them on the second floor of the Bank of America Career Services Center.
